I love to sing… in the car, walking the bike trail, even while pulling weeds in my garden (cue up This is My Father’s World). But I especially love singing in a choir. I admit my voice is average but when harmonizing with others my voice becomes one with the beautiful choir. Having participated in school and church choirs since high school I was disappointed when our church decided to discontinue their choir for various reasons. I missed the camaraderie of singing with others. I missed the challenge of singing an unfamiliar piece of music. I missed the opportunity to praise God through a choir. When I first heard that opportunity would again be available through One Voice Community Choir I was eager to jump on board.
I am excited to bring years of public accounting experience to my position as Treasurer on the One Voice Board. Although I have retired from my professional career I enjoy working with the numbers and ensuring all the financial requirements are met. I also enjoy traveling to Chicago to spend time with my son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters. When the weather is nice I can be found spending time in my flower and vegetable garden.
I’m looking forward to combining my voice with yours to make it One Voice!
